International DVD Mistakes & Important Reminders

The pictures below show errors that were recently discovered on the International DVD shelf:

1. A large number of unlocked DVDs were found on the shelf. We must always lock all cases that need locked, whether they be books on CD, music CDs, International DVDs, or items on the non-fiction AV carts.

This has been a recurring issue that we have addressed many times. How can we better help everyone to remember to lock items?  If you need a refresher as to what cases need locked please ask Pam or Kim.

2. Regular DVDs were found on the International shelf that should have been locked in the LAS. Not only were these items at risk for theft, but no one would be able to find them where they were.

3. International DVDs that need to be re-cased into locking cases were found on the International shelf. There is a shelf in the book drop room where we put these items. If you don't know where it is, ask another page, Pam or Kim. International DVDs that have new stickers on them are loaded into the LAS. After they are no longer new, the sticker is removed and the DVDs need to be sent upstairs to be re-cased so they can be shelved on the international DVD shelf.

If we are properly checking AV carts, we should not be making these mistakes. If you have any questions or need refresher training about any of these issues please let Pam or Kim know.

When we are busy, more errors happen, and when we are training new people, more errors happen. As we get everyone trained and we adjust back to our normal hours, these errors should happen less and less. Remember to help each other and work together.
