Very important

Yesterday while I was working the Public Service Desk a patron stopped to talk about their account. They had returned materials through the outdoor return that drops into the white bins on Saturday, July 6th. Their materials showed as being returned Monday, July 8th. I went back and took a look at the internal AMH and no backdating was set. This is a big problem because it means that a lot of people were charged overdue fees that should not be. The internal AMH should always be backdating! Either to the date that we were last open and receiving materials through the outdoor slots or to today's date after all the exception bins have been cleared. And remember when discharging materials at one of the page computers to set the discharge date to the date on the internal AMH. *See attached pictures that are on the bookdrop door. Use highlighted discharging icon so you can set date.

Please spread the word to others who may not have read this email! and as always, questions, comments and suggestions are welcome.
