Some of you may not know her but Lynn Pertek, who works the Circulation Desk, was at Boston watching her daughter run the marathon when the bombs went off. Just thought I would pass this email along to you all.
MY DAUGHTER RAN THE BOSTON MARATHON!!!!!
She had a great run of 4 hours and 1 minute......which is 1 minute longer
than her goal time. Even with her injured hip she did extremely well and was
happy that she could finish. She enjoyed the course tremendously and the
outpouring of support and love from the community was overwhelming.
As spectators, my husband and I were lucky to get to see her twice...at
miles 17 and 25.
The bombs that went off were very close to where we were. We were only a
few blocks from where they exploded and Brittany was a few blocks on the other
side of them. We were relieved when we connected with her and worked our way
out of that area.
Many prayers were answered and we will keep good thoughts for all of those
still dealing with the injuries, etc.
Again, thanks for all your support and good wishes. Peace,
Lynn
