1st floor pages are going to be doing the AV pull list on Thursday mornings. This is something we will want to do right away in the morning. We want everyone to be trained on how to do pull list so let us know if you need training.
Children's Shelf reading sheet
We have moved the forms we record our shelf reading on down to the
Children's workroom. Children's staff have been helping with shelf reading. We
are moving the list because it has been a little confusing having two list and
this way we won't duplicate work already done. 1st floor pages please continue
to shelf read the first 15 minutes of your shelving shift and record it in the
Children's workroom. If you can't find the shelf reading record sheets please
ask Pam, me or any of Children's staff.
We are pretty well caught up at this time so do extra shelf reading!! The
more we shelf read the faster and easier it is to shelve.
Children's staff thank you for your assistance with shelf
reading!!! Remember to use the Shelving Help Desk to report problem
areas.
Check your mail slots
In your mail slot you will find a slip of paper. On this
paper are your statistics that we have collected since you started filling out
the Access forms. The information listed on your sheet tells you:
your name
some of you have your start date listed
how many hours of work you have recorded
how many carts you have loaded, sorted and shelved
the percentage of time you have spent sorting and shelving
how many of your items shelved we have tracked and check for accuracy on
the shelf
what your shelving accuracy percentage is and your Z scores
Your Z score shows you how fast you are sorting and shelving carts. If
this score is a negative number that is a good thing, it shows that you are
faster then average.
Please ask Pam or me if you have any questions and continue to fill
out all Access forms. The information that we are getting from these
forms is very important. If everyone does not participate in filling out these
required forms then our data is skewed and we don't get a full picture of what
you are doing and what our needs are as a department.
I have updated the average sorting and shelving times outside my
office. Strive to be accurate and faster then average.
Feedback and communication is important. Let Pam and I know if you
want or need more training or if you have ideas as to how to do things more
efficiently.
