The Wellness Committee would like to invite you join in on some fun during Happy Feet Week! Join your co-workers on a Skyway Scrabble Walk the morning of Monday, January 28th.
IF you do not work this day, you are welcome to come in a do the walk.
Skyway Scrabble Walk
What is a Scrabble Walk? A Scrabble Walk is a walking route that has designated stops where you pick up Scrabble tiles. At the end of the walk you will have enough tiles to compose your very own word.
Compete for prizes in two categories: Longest Word
Word with the Most Points
· Why should I participate? To celebrate Happy Feet Week by walking and to energize your brain by playing Scrabble!!
· What do I wear to a Scrabble Walk? If you participate in the walk, you are cleared to have a casual day—wear your check it out t-shirts or RPL gear and comfy walking shoes!
· Skyway Scrabble Walk Route:
o Scrabble Stop One: Goose located in the skyway as you walk toward the Civic Center.
o Scrabble Stop Two: Entrance to the Skyway that leads to Broadway Residence and Suites
o Scrabble Stop Three: Associated Bank near the skyway stair steps that lead to Government Center
o Scrabble Stop Four: Government Center Skyway entrance (go over the skyway that crosses the Zumbro)
o End at Staff Lounge where you can enter your word in the contest and pick up a healthy snack!
§ NOTE: This activity is intended to take 15-25 minutes. Morning break time should be used be used for at least 15 of those minutes. Audrey has okayed using a few extra minutes past that 15 to complete the activity.
· Rules: You will get 2 scrabble tiles (and a baggie to hold them in) at the Starting Block (staff lounge). Walk the route according to the stops listed, stopping at stop 1 first. Look for the Scrabble Stop signs and staff Scrabble Helpers in the skyway. Pick up 2 tiles at each of the 4 Scrabble Stop signs. (You must visit each stop once; staff members who try to pick up 8 tiles at one stop will be swiftly eliminated from the competition.) Create your word and at the end of the walk submit it to KimD in the Staff Lounge.
o Note: Earn 2 extra Scrabble tiles if you bring a new pair of socks to donate to the Happy Feet Week!
· Prizes:
o One night stay at Hampton Inn in Rochester: Everyone that enters the walk will have their name entered into this drawing.
o Scrabble word with the most points
o Longest Scrabble word (word that uses the most Scrabble tiles)
