At one time there seemed to be an invasion of mylar eating aliens devouring the CDs and DVDs. Of course it could have just been increased checkouts combined with decreased purchasing resources, (Nah, I'm going with the aliens theory). Our materials were dwindling and in an effort to give the mylar filled materials time to reproduce we extended the time for which materials were marked as new. Now that the numbers have increased we are going to have the new Books on Tape and Books on CD remain new for nine months. The new music CDs will stay new for ten months. After ten months we will take the new sticker off of the DVDs. So that you will not need to subtract there is a sheet of paper with the current dates posted monthly on the Safety First Bulletin board in the work area.
