Hi Pages - I've done a bit of adjusting with the oversize collection. Here's how we're going to handle them:
There is a new display for oversize dummy cases - find it on the end cap of the last video stack before the CD collection. The oversize items we keep behind the circ desk are there because they have a large booklet that wouldn't allow for re-casing or they cost more than $50 (or both), or they happen to be multi-tape video collections (we have 2). They have been a rather vague collection in the recent past, so I've sorted it out and hopefully clarified the process.
Here is the process for oversize CD cases:
1. The patron brings the dummy case to the PS desk.
2. Circ staff takes the dummy case from patron & checks out actual CDs to patron.
3. Circ staff puts dummy case on shelf outside of DVD closet (see newly-labeled shelf)
4. When oversize CD is returned to library, AV pages will check the case.
5. If CD collection is complete, page will leave on Pam's desk.
6. AV Page will find dummy case and return it to the oversize display case.
7. Pam will return CD to circ desk.
